Rahul Dua, born October 8, 1989, in Ludhiana, Punjab, is one of India's most beloved stand-up comedians, known for his sharp observational humor, relatable storytelling, and signature high-pitched "woohoo" that has become his trademark. After excelling at Sacred Heart Convent School, he pursued B.Tech in Electronics and Communications at Thapar University, Patiala, where he was a merit scholarship holder. His academic brilliance continued when he scored 99.4 percentile in CAT, gaining admission to the prestigious Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi, where he specialized in Finance and Marketing.
Despite his impressive corporate credentials, working as a credit risk officer and investment banker at Citibank Mumbai, and later as Assistant Manager at Star India Private Limited, Rahul's heart belonged to comedy. While juggling his day job, he performed at open mic nights in Connaught Place, Delhi. When paid slots started coming in, he made the bold decision to pursue comedy full-time. Coincidentally, during his notice period at Star TV, the advertisement for Amazon Prime's Comicstaan appeared. Rahul's participation in Comicstaan Season 1 in 2018 proved career-defining, he emerged as first runner-up, placing him among India's top 16 comedians and launching him into national prominence.
Since then, Rahul has performed over 300 public shows across 50+ cities, selling more than 25,000 tickets for his widely popular special "Oh Hello!" and garnering 2+ million live viewership.
With over one million YouTube subscribers and a massive social media following exceeding 900,000 on Instagram, Rahul continues touring internationally, including performances across the USA and Canada. His current tour "Allow Me!" showcases his evolution as a comedian who blends Punjab's warmth with contemporary Indian humor, making him a household name in India's comedy landscape.
